Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Genizon has completed a GWAS in its attention deficit and hyperactive disorder (ADHD) program using 459 trios (parent/parent/child) from the Quebec founder population (QFP). Genotyping was performed using Illumina’s HumanHap300 chip, containing 317,504 SNP markers distributed throughout the human genome, supplemented with 56,683 markers selected to reflect the genetic sharing in the QFP, as established from previous studies at Genizon. This approach has resulted in the identification of several genes and candidate regions associated with the disease. Many of the identified regions contain genes involved in biologically relevant pathways. The identified genes have been used to construct a GeneMap, consisting of networks of interacting disease genes and their biological pathways. Research into these and other regions is continuing.

In January 2007, Genizon licensed the disease-state diagnostic rights to its discovery program in ADHD to Pfizer Inc.
