Rheumatoid Arthritis

Genizon has completed a genome-wide association study in rheumatoid arthritis of over 800 affected patients and 800 unaffected controls from the Quebec Founder Population.

The genotyping has been performed using Illumina’s Infinium Human 1M BeadChip, which uses over one million markers including probes for copy number variations (CNVs).

This study is a first in its class using an extremely homogeneous founder population and a high density SNP chip to maximize the power of the study for the discovery of susceptibility genes involved in rheumatoid arthritis. Data analysis is ongoing.
